We are currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in our climate controlled facility located in Carrollton, Texas. The typical work hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.How you will spend your time:--- Utilizing SolidWorks to transform raw data into 3-D models, drawings, work instructions and specifications.--- Interfacing with Program Management to complete quotations, design Gantt Charts, specifications requirement flow down and project status.--- Creating product Bill of Materials (BOMs) and creating labor sequence/plan in support the manufacturing and quoting processes.--- Clearly identifying critical safety, inspection criteria and implement tools to mitigate risks.--- Collaborating with Sales Engineering and Electrical Engineering teams to develop mechanical enclosures and structures in support of customer specifications and envelop dimensions.--- Performing tolerance analysis on mechanical design of mating/interconnecting parts.--- Updating and maintaining manufacturing work instructions, documentation and test fixtures to ensure drawings and instructions conform to quality, engineering design and customer specifications.--- Coordinating production training in assembling activities to ensure products conform to engineering design and customer specifications.--- Developing test & validation plans and approving test results to qualify design acceptance.--- Leading and coordinating design reviews in support of DVT efforts for custom products (Battery, Power & Thermal) based on design specifications. --- Developing and executing component qualification plan for non-franchised battery cells, primarily in support of new chemistries, component equivalency and non-franchise suppliers.--- Supporting Supply in supplier qualification efforts and approval.--- Initiating, reviewing, evaluating and approving Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) from both customers and the production team.--- Mentoring others in good Engineering practices, procedures and policies.--- Providing critical thinking and collaborative input on system designs of Battery Pack, Power, Industrial & Thermal assembliesWe're excited if you have: --- Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying.
