Job Summary

The overall purpose of the Clinical Informatics Specialist position is to design, implement, and evaluate the clinical technology needs for the Skilled Nursing Division ensuring optimal patient care that meets compliance in accordance with company, State, and Federal standards of care. This position will work collaboratively with IT and Clinical leadership to support the point of care clinicians' ability to deliver high quality patient care services.

Essential Functions

• Displays expertise in clinical applications and develops specifications to support the design clinical applications.
• Serves as the link between the clinical staff requirements and IT capabilities.
• Utilizes both clinical and analytical skills in evaluating proposed projects and forming recommendations.
• Facilitates ongoing development of clinical documentation records for the SNF division.
• Promotes network alignment of informatics initiatives with clinical practice standards, guidelines and regulatory standards as well as the appropriate use of innovative technologies.
• Establishes metrics to support project goals and develops improvement plans accordingly.
• Assists in identifying and evaluating best practices by fostering information sharing and spread and adoption.
• Promotes communication, networking and knowledge transfer among clinical leaders.
• Serves as a resource to the Clinical leadership of the company.
• Develop and implement regulatory recommendations to ensure continued compliance as it relates to administering care documentation
• Adopt and implement Cantex Clinical Policies and Procedures and Patient Care Management Systems in the EMR
• Involved in audits of patient records for benefit of reviewing care rendered and outcomes achieved for trends.
• Participate in Validation Survey Process to ensure regulatory compliance is maintained
• Provides MyUnity Training for SNF Division
• 50% Travel Required Qualifications
  
  Qualifications
  • A current and valid RN license is required; BSN in Healthcare Informatics preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing in a Long Term Care setting
  • Experience with EMR implementation and maintenance; MyUnity experience preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of governmental regulations to maintain compliance
  • Must have proven experience in effective leadership with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to evaluate, revise, and implement clinical systems
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
