Job Title: Registered Nurse Pre-Assessment TestingJob Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as a Pre-Assessment Testing Nurse. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will be responsible for assessing patients pre-operatively, developing individualized plans of care, and ensuring seamless transitions throughout the perioperative continuum.Responsibilities:

• Assess patients pre-operatively, evaluating their medical history, surgical plan, and current status
• Develop individualized perianesthesia plans of care, implementing communication strategies and evaluating patient progress
• Interview pre-operative patients to gather necessary data, review test results, and notify physicians of abnormal findings
• Serve as initial and primary contact for referral sources, directing screening and clearance of patients
• Understand medications and their actions, educating patients on necessary medications for the day of surgery
• Administer medications safely and correctly, adhering to standard precautions and personal protective equipment
• Perform interventions to maintain wound and tissue perfusion, protect patients from infection, and manage co-morbid conditions
• Assess patient knowledge, provide education on expected responses to procedures, and involve patients in decision-making
• Document episodes of care completely, accurately, and legibly, demonstrating effective communication and collaboration skillsRequirements:
  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
  • One year of pre-op, PACU, and/or medical/surgical nursing experience preferred
  • Current state licensure to practice within good standings
  • Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification
  • Successful completion of Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS certification
  • Successful completion of Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course is required when pediatric care is included in the facility scope services within 90 days of employment or documentation of current PALS certification
