General information includes a pediatric unit with 38 beds and a
staff of 15. The day shift consists of 1 charge nurse and up to 10
RNs based on patient numbers and acuity. Night shift also consists
of 1 charge nurse and up to 10 RNs based on patient numbers and
acuity. The unit supports patient ratios of 1 nurse to 4 patients.
Typical equipment used includes EMR - Meditech. Most sought-after
skills include BLS Certification and PALS Certification. Preferred
qualifications include APHON Chemo Certification. Common procedures
performed in the unit include: - Respiratory Care - Central Line
Care - GTUBE/NG Tube Management - Drain Management - Preoperative
and Postoperative Care The best personality fit for this role
includes strong teamwork and communication skills. This position
may involve floating to various pediatric care areas such as
Medical/Surgical units and Intensive Care Units. Dress code
consists of royal blue scrubs. The position requires 4 weekend
