Job Description:

Director of Accounting & Administration will need to wear multiple hats. In addition to accounting function, we are looking for someone with a strong human resource, legal, risk management and compliance background. The successful candidate will have 10 - 15 years' experience in the logistics industry, preferably working in the asset/non-asset side of domestic transportation. The candidate will need to be a "hands on" type of manager and play a key role in communicating with senior management in strategic decision making and operations of the company. Responsible for all HR functions, such as the recruiting process - assist in the creation of job the description and coordinating interviews with candidates (via recruiter(s)) and the proper company employee(s); employee training; handling sensitive internal HR issues, including terminating employees
Update required HR materials (handbooks, policies and procedures)
Review all legal agreements
Insure the company is in compliance with the Company's compliance programs and appropriate training
Participate in the risk management review and coordinate the resolution of issues with the company's insurance dept. and the insurance broker
Participate in insurance claims activity, including reporting to senior management and creating policy and procedures
Accounting

Manage and participate in the month-end closing process, and the preparation of monthly financials
Participate in the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and senior management
Update and implement necessary business policies and procedures
Effectively communicate and present critical financial matters to senior management
Minimum-Accounting degree, ideally with an MBA/CPA
Experience with the accounting package - Microsoft Dynamics is a plus
Japanese speaking preferred but not required
