Developer . The project developer will support the Texas Region in
acquiring and executing energy-savings-driven complex contracting
projects. Key activities will include working with clients and
office team members on sales strategy, client and opportunity
qualification, preliminary and detailed audit scope development,
manage detailed energy audits, and assisting the team with contract
development and client presentations.

Essential Job Functions
Assist the sales team with client qualification related tasks
during the acquisition phase of the Trane complex solutions sales
process.
Assist with defining client objectives and business drivers.
Identify and perform technical tasks related to qualifying
opportunities, to include preliminary audits, energy performance
benchmarking, site surveys, and on-site technical and financial
interviews.
Manage Energy Audits and Entry Offer Activities
Manage and conduct energy audit activities, to include the
development and pricing of the scope of work for the audit; scope
of work development for energy conservation measures and facility
improvement measures (ECMs/FIMs)
Perform consultant and contractor qualification and selection
Communicate with key Trane team members as required to develop
project costs and energy savings estimates
Plan and coordinate audit schedules; develop and manage the audit
budget
Review the consultant and contractor deliverables to Trane during
the audit and approve progress payments as appropriate
Plan and participate in the client meetings and associated site
visits
Plan, prepare, and assist the sales team with presentations to the
client
Coordinate with the sales team appropriately as it relates to Level
of Authority (LOA) reviews.
Directly execute the project development process for multiple
complex solution opportunities at the same time. Participate in
Strategic Opportunity Reviews (SORs) as needed.
Requirements and Abilities
Ability to establish and direct strong teams comprised of both
Trane employees and outside resources.
Solid understanding of consultative, solution selling.
Ability to develop solid relationships with internal and external
customers.
Capability to discuss technical concepts with individuals having
varying expertise levels.
Comfortable discussing technical and financial topics at the
executive level of an organization.
Demonstrate a "can do" attitude in the midst of competing
assignments.
Ability to meet short- and long-term deadlines with consistency and
enthusiasm.
Significant travel (up to 60%) required, primarily Texas region
Respond effectively to meet the needs of internal and external
customers.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
(Self-Starter).
Ability to thrive in a team environment and effectively communicate
in a matrix organization.
Demonstrated ability to cope with stress and maintain a
professional and cooperative temperament.
Demonstrated ability and desire to learn, think rationally, and
exercise good judgment.
Serve as a role model in consistently using and advocating the
corporate standards, processes and tools.
Proven track record in conducting and supervising both preliminary
and detailed facility audits.
Solid understanding of facility construction and related code
requirements.
Demonstrated competence in directing and communicating with
consultants and contractors.
Solid experience in project management.
Ability to identify and quantify risks associated with energy
savings related construction projects.
Ability to offer business judgment on the investment of time and
resources related to opportunities.
Education, Experience and Special Skills
Four year degree in engineering or technically relevant field
required (or equivalent experience);
Advanced degree (e.g. MBA) desired.
P.E. Desired
Experience in owner direct sales or sales support required.
Minimum 10 years of experience in project management or project
development required.
Experience in mechanical or electrical building systems design
desired.
Experience in managing 3rd Party design consultants conducting
design and audit related tasks.
Minimum ten years of experience in the Performance Contracting
arena required.
Excellent communication skills - oral, written, executive
presentation, training, etc.
Business savvy - financial selling, construction and service
contracts, demonstrated C-suite confidence.
Management experience - process oriented, team oriented, ability to
coach others.
General attributes - impeccable business ethics, professional
image, exceptional organizational skills.
Must possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months,
with no major or frequent traffic violations included, but not
limited to: DUI in the previous 3 years; Hit & Run, License
Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller
infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
Salary: $120,000 - $187,000 salary
