doing The Enterprise Architecture group is seeking a principal
engineer with a focus on Generative AI. You will play a pivotal
role in shaping and implementing cutting-edge AI strategies with
the goal of creating the Generative AI architecture within Verizon,
ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and aligning
with our business objectives. You will be responsible for
overseeing the design, development, and deployment of Generative AI
solutions. As a member of the Enterprise Architecture team, you
will provide overall direction to the team of architects
responsible for Generative AI solutions & Technology product
management. The person needs to be ultra-focused with strong
technical knowledge to execute the vision. Responsibilities will
include, but are not limited to: Defining and implementing an
enterprise-wide strategy for integrating Generative AI technologies
to enhance business processes and drive innovation. Playing an
influential and instrumental role in driving Generative AI vision,
strategy, and architecture. Defining Data strategy for Technology
product management and tool rationalization Deep understanding of
Gen AI Common services platform, and in-house developed services
like Data preprocessing, Prompt management, Caching, Validation,
Advanced RAG, RLHF and success measurement. Deep understanding of
Telco Gen AI use cases implementations, including Infobot, call
summarization, call segmentation, contract classification &
multiple contract document summarization, Email classification, Gen
AI sales pitch deck, Sales process automation Thorough
understanding of LLMOps, data pipelines, and other common services
required to operationalize the Generative AI use cases. Leading the
development of scalable and sustainable architecture frameworks for
Generative AI applications, ensuring alignment with overall
business goals and future scalability. Defining data architecture
for KaaS (knowledge as a service); a platform to organize
multi-model unstructured data Staying abreast of emerging
technologies and trends in Generative AI, assessing their potential
impact on the organization, and making recommendations for
adoption. Leading complex projects by bringing together the right
perspectives, identifying roadblocks, and integrating feedback from
clients and team members. Designing end-to-end Generative AI
solutions tailored to specific Verizon use cases. Defining data
requirements, model architecture, training pipelines, and
integrating existing systems utilizing state-of-the-art techniques
such as LLM, RAG, and Agentic Framework Designing and architecting
efforts across multiple functional teams to analyze the
requirements, define the end-to-end architecture, and get it
implemented, tested, and deployed for Generative AI use cases.
Developing a Generative AI common services architecture that will
support multiple categories of use cases across cross-CIO
organizations. Deep understanding of automation and AI technologies
and their application in business operations. Evaluating emerging
technologies, assessing their impact, and making recommendations
for adoption. Interfacing with senior management and
executive-level clients to ensure architectural decisions align
with business directions. Solutioning use cases that involve
Machine learning and Generative AI models with strategic data
Integration patterns Developing architecture design patterns to
solve the enterprise vision of replacing Large Language models with
Small Language Models to reduce the computational and maintenance
costs of LLM’s Developing solutions for different design patterns
like content generation, user engagement, AI Agents, Co-pilot,
developer productivity etc. Architecting end-to-end Integration
strategies of various internal and external-facing VZ applications
with capabilities of Generative AI. What we’re looking for *You'll
need to have: * Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of
experience. Six or more years of relevant experience required,
demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military
experience, or specialized training. Experience with machine
learning tools like Vertex AI, Amazon Sagemaker Experience with AI
development frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph etc. Experience
with RAG architectures like LightRag, GraphRag etc. Experience in
articulating the business drivers and architectural
approach/trade-offs during discussions for solutions. *Even better
if you have: * Master’s degree in Data Science Experience with
emerging technologies and tools; Generative AI, Chat Bots, AI and
ML, ETL tools, Data Lakes, Large language models, Business
intelligence, API Integrations, React UI, Salesforce, GCP
Experience in Telecom Industry Enterprise Architecture. Experience
with Technology product management and tool evaluation/
rationalization strategy Ability to create system and process flow
diagrams, data flow diagrams, sequence, and UML diagrams, and inter
and intra-system dependencies within the functional domain and
across them. Strong demonstrable management experience with leading
software developers/architects, systems, or process analysts.
Ability to perform analytics on previous incidents and usage
patterns to better predict issues and take proactive actions.
Experience building and driving adoption for greater self-healing
and resiliency patterns. Ability to lead and participate in
performance tests to identify bottlenecks, opportunities for
optimization, and capacity demands for product launches. Talent
development & management to ensure resources continue to increase
their skills. Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment and
adapt to changes. Knowledge of Wireless, wireless consumer, and
Business organizations. Experience in business intelligence
technologies and Data analysis. Ability to facilitate group
meetings/discussions. Excellent verbal and written communication

depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and
experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential
to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be
adjusted to reflect your hours. The annual salary range for the
location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time
schedule is: $120,500.00 - $231,000.00.
