We define success by our Citi Leadership Standards: Develops our People, Drives Value for Clients, Works as a Partner, Champions Progress, Lives our Values and Delivers Results.Overview of the RoleReporting to the GCT Head of Tech Strategy, the Director of Strategic Governance & Enablement - Controls & Datais responsible for driving the definition of GCT 's Controls & Data technology strategy, collaborating across all regions globally, helping to define the enabling technology needed for the Consumer Bank of the Future. - As a custodian of the GCT Strategic Vision and Pillars, this leader will define and establish the near and long-term strategies and roadmaps required to modernize, simplify and automate across the consumer technology platforms.This position is a critical strategic role that will partner closely with key technology stakeholders including GCT regional teams, CTO and EIO&T. - This leader is senior technologist with deep knowledge of core banking technologies, next-generation architecture and consumer banking business processes. - This leader has exceptional abilities in analysis, critical thinking, communication and influencing, and has a proven track record of delivering transformational agendas, thinking out of the box and thriving in ambiguous situations. - The ideal candidate will be comfortable with not only leading and influencing but also diving into the technical weeds and rolling up her/his/their sleeves. -Responsibilities Include:

  • Defines, manages, adapts, and communicates a global strategy and set of pillars and programs necessary for the Consumer Bank of the Future, addressing all aspects of the technology agenda, focused on Controls & Data.
  • Partner with global technology stakeholders to identify needs, validate pain points, and determine the high-level value proposition / business case for implementing innovative, relevant, and cost-effective technology solutions. -Deploy techniques such as hypotheses development, current state analysis, data and analytics, and business case development to establish near and long-term technology priorities. -
  • Conduct and incorporate research, insights and competitive analysis as required.
  • Drive market analysis and prioritize technology requirements; work with architects, business stakeholders, research teams, product, domain, and application owners, and key partners to define tangible technology transformation opportunities and create strategic execution plans to deliver on company goals
  • Establish an innovation framework to drive Technology Transformation globally, employing approaches such as : design thinking, prototyping, incubating and proofs of concepts. - This framework will cover process, tooling and solutions, to create an incubation platform leverageable across GCT.
  • Develop approach to drive best-practice sharing and collaboration across regions along defined areas of future growth; provide support and guidance to Regional teams as needed to ensure objectives are met
    • Develop, in consultation with Engineering and Architecture teams, an approach to assess the productivity and value impact of new and emerging technologies and develop and lead implementation plans to drive successful adoption of the technologies. -
    • Champion an inclusive and diverse global mindset in order to attract a deep and diverse talent pool within the organization that includes effective coaching and development.Organizational Scope and Accountability
      • Strong interaction with Global Technology teams, within GCT and EIO&T. -Strong interaction with Business Strategy teams.
      • Act as the focal point for Technology leaders in knowing, understanding and synthesizing the GCT Strategic Vision and Pillars.
      • Provide leadership and alignment for Technology Strategy across GCT. Serve as the global voice to gain alignment on and drive execution of strategy.
      • Champion an inclusive and diverse global mindset in order to attract a deep and diverse talent pool within the organization that includes effective coaching and development.
      • Evaluate opportunities and enable measurable improvements quickly and best utilize resources, while defining the GCT roadmap which matches strategy and direction. Provide guidance to effectively scale regional solutions globally where appropriate.
      • Partner with senior engineers and engineering managers to develop best practices.
      • Establish and maintain a high performing, open culture based on integrity and strong partnership and financial responsibility.QualificationsThe ideal candidate will come from an international organization and be a visionary leader in engineering, technology transformation and strategy. -Bachelor degree in computer science, engineering, business or a related field. Masters degree or equivalent experience preferred.
        • 15+ years relevant work experience, including experience leading cross-functional teams across engineering, architecture and product management.
        • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; Data driven and results-oriented.
        • Experience in affecting large culture change.
        • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
        • Ability to work with seamlessly with remote teams?
        • Experience delivering with an agile methodology.
        • Capability to define a well thought out organizational strategy and execute on an associated operational plan.
        • Exceptional strategic analysis, problem solving, issue resolution and decision making skills.
        • Leadership skills: individual leadership, change leadership, mentorship, motivation, coaching and development, and the ability to galvanize the support of others where possible.
        • Highly detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and able to embrace change without frustration.
        • Delivery of high-quality strategic large-scale projects.
        • Ability to manage senior staff as well as manage staff remotely across multiple locations, time zones and cultures.
        • Demonstrated track record and ability to influence external organizations.
        • Self-directed, motivated and managed; ability to deal with imperfect information, decision and drive to successful conclusions.
        • Ability to handle constant pressure and juggle multiple demands.
        • Flexibility with travel.
        • Demonstrated ability to work across organizational boundaries and geographies.
        • Understanding of the agile software development processes and lifecycle with understanding of financial impacts.
        • Demonstrated experience evaluating and driving safe, sound processes through review, evaluation, and management of effective controls.
        • Strong risk management and ability to look beyond to the next set of challenges.
        • Dynamic, engaging style with excellent written and oral communication across different audiences and levels.
        • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels within an organization, from the most technical engineer to the most savvy business / executive leader.
        • Possess uncompromising ethics, unwavering integrity and understanding of risk & regulatory process, as well as outstanding communications and interpersonal skills.
