JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for planning, supervising, and coordinating maintenance operations to provide timely and cost-effective maintenance services for Westlake and ensuring that all work performed by team member are in accordance with Westlake safety standards and general policies and objectives outlined by the Plant Manager. The incumbent acts as a working supervisor to maintenance staff assigned in addition to managing the daily tasks and duties listed below illustrate the various type of work that may be performed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Comply with Westlake Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Regular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibility.
  • Responsible for Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, PM Scheduling/Servicing of al plant machinery.
  • Responsible for managing the schedule of department personnel and the efficient maintenance upkeep of production Machinery and Equipment.
  • Maintenance Supervisor will also manage the problems within both Facilities, Utilities and Building & Grounds.
  • Proven leader, trainer and has cross-functional management & technical skills to lead our maintenance team.
  • Arranges and coordinates annual fire inspections with the local fire department.
  • Directs the maintenance of the facility's Equipment, Auxiliary Equipment, Support Equipment, Electrical, Mechanical, Compressed Gas, Compressed Air, Cooling after, Refrigeration systems, Renal equipment and etc. to provide uninterrupted services of the facility operations.
  • Ensure Maintenance Personnel are available at all times during plant's operation time (schedule) to maintain efficient operations. (Provisions for "ON-CALL" personnel as needed).

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    The employee should hold the following abilities:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficient in MS Office. Must possess, or gain knowledge of MES System of the facility.
    • Must possess, or gain knowledge of ERP System and Infor - PM/Asset Management System (EAM).
    • Proficient in Microsoft suite.
    • Arranges and coordinates internal safety inspections to meet OSHA, ANSI, DEP, Insurance Carrier, Local, County, State, Federal and any other regulations pertinent to the overall SAFETY of the facility personnel and surrounding areas. Follows up on deficiencies and recommendations. (Works closely with the EH&S Supervisor).
    • Provides staff training in a variety of safety and maintenance topics including (but not limited to the following) LOTO, Fall Protection, Proper PPE, PM's, TPM, the effective utilization of maintenance logs, completion of routine maintenance tasks specific to the facility, equipment operations, LEAN Manufacturing tools & Processes and so forth, with a Continuous Improvement mindset.
    • Develops, schedules and controls a preventive maintenance program to maintain Production Machinery and Support Equipment/System in proper working condition.
    • Inspects jobs in process and at the completion to ensure that standards of workmanship and safety are maintained.
    • Maintains inventories of maintenance materials, supplies, and repair parts at required (determined) levels by initiating requisitions for purchase.
    • Coordinates the plant-wide communication and completion of corrective & Preventive maintenance in accordance with operating procedures, practices and financial considerations. Establishes procedures & contacts to ensure timely repairs.
    • Tactful, diplomatic, empathetic - Says the right thing, knows how to bridge gaps of understanding, and is sensitive to others.

      ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Participates in the development of policies and procedures related to safety, maintenance and personnel.
      • Participates in annual budget preparation as it relates to safety, maintenance and personnel.
      • Implements capital projects to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
      • Serves as a member of other committees as thought to be necessary by this individual, and/or assigned by their Manager.
      • Travel to Suppliers, Company owned facilities and "Others' will be necessary from time to time.

        EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

        • At least five years of experience in supervisory positions utilizing a combination of technical, managerial and financial expertise.
        • Multilingual in English and Spanish
        • High School Diploma or GED required
        • PLC programming capable is preferred
        • Experience with automated processing center (GED and Joseph) is preferred
        • Must have a valid driver's license
        • Knowledge of OSHA, ANSI and EPA regulations

          ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
          The employee should possess the ability to:

          • Must be able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
          • Must tolerate working environment with inside ambient temperatures reaching 100+ degrees.
          • Must be able to lift, climb, bend, kneel, twist, pry, pull/push, sit/stand/walk, ascend & descend stairs and ladders, etc.
          • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
          • Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision protection)
