to navigate the many complex, interrelated transitions taking place
globally and regionally, in the energy industry.
About the role
Are you passionate about safety and protecting people and the
environment from harm? Are you an adaptable, creative thinker ready
to take on a senior-level role and help us enhance our services to
meet new realities and future changes?
DNV Energy Systems is seeking a Principal Consultant, with an
emphasis on Process Hazard Analysis, Process Safety, Process Safety
Management Systems and Risk Management. Principal Consultants must
be equally comfortable working independently, working in teams, and
collaborating virtually with minimal supervision as well as
directing the work of less experienced consultants.
A successful candidate will have extensive experience conducting
complex process safety risk assessments, including faciltating
HAZID, HAZOP, and LOPA workshops. The candidate will be an expert
with several aspects of qualitative and quantitative risk
assessments involving tools such as HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, Bowties,
CFD and others. This work involves programs including but not
limited to PHA Pro, Phast, KFX, and FLACS.
Most clients are in the oil and gas sector but include other
process industries and increasingly focus on low-carbon products
like CO2, H2 and Ammonia. One area of future work involves
enhancing existing risk assessment tools and techniques by
incorporating forward climate models into the analyses.
This role is based at our DNV office in Katy, TX presenting a
dynamic hybrid schedule where employees will typically spend three
(3) days per week working from either a DNV office or client
location/site. Further details regarding role-specific requirements
will be shared during the interview process.
